We currently offer the following three delivery methods:
Free Standard Delivery *:
Delivery is free for all standard orders dispatched to any address in the UK and are sent by 2nd class Royal Mail post. Please allow 2 – 4 days for your goods to arrive. The time scale is used as a guide and not guaranteed. Standard orders will be dispatched on the same day as long as your purchase is completed before 3pm and the goods are in stock.
Royal mail 1st Class:
The estimated delivery time for this service is 1 to 3 working days. Once again the time scale is used as a guide and not guaranteed. This service costs only £1.66 excluding vat for Royal Mail first class delivery.
Guaranteed Next Day Courier:
This service is only available for a UK Mainland delivery address. Orders placed before 3pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) will be dispatched the same day and arrive the next working day. Please note that the delivery time can be up until 6pm and a signature will be required upon delivery. This is just £6.95 excluding vat for mainland UK (please note that courier delivery to highlands & islands may take 2 to 3 days). If you spend more than £100 excluding vat in any single transaction you will receive free next day delivery.
* All laser toner cartridges and office stationery will be sent by Royal Mail 1st Class or Next Day Courier, even when the Free Standard Delivery option is selected. Mixed orders of inkjet or laser cartridges and office stationery may arrive in separate timed deliveries.
If you require pre 12 noon guaranteed next business day delivery (UK Mainland) by courier there is a flat charge of £18 excluding VAT. Non-UK Mainland is guaranteed 2 business days.
If you require Saturday guaranteed delivery by courier there is a flat charge of £35 excluding VAT please note deliveries can arrive from 8am-5pm.
We will refund the carriage cost in the event of late delivery for orders upgraded to Express Delivery next working day. This guarantee does not apply if The Royal Mail or Courier Company is unable to find someone to sign for the delivery, and have to leave a “We're holding an item of mail for you” card.
Our Delivery Schedule
- Order Saturday, Sunday or Monday before 3PM to expect delivery Tuesday
- Order Tuesday before 3PM to expect delivery Wednesday
- Order Wednesday before 3PM to expect delivery Thursday
- Order Thursday before 3PM to expect delivery Friday
- Order Friday before 3PM to expect delivery Monday
If goods cannot be dispatched within a reasonable time we will email you to advise you of this and, if there is to be a delay, ask if you wish to continue with the transaction and offering you the opportunity to cancel or part-ship your order. If for any reason we cannot send your order by the delivery method selected, we will upgrade your delivery method to the next available service at no extra cost to you. At our discretion we may upgrade larger orders to next day courier at no extra cost to you.
When an order is sent by Royal Mail and has not been received it is worth noting that we find a high proportion of missing items are held at local sorting offices or are held by a neighbour or colleague. Royal Mail should leave a card indicating this, however there are times when these are misplaced or not left at all, so please check first.
Please note that the Royal Mail do not class a package as missing until 15 working days have elapsed. Further details can be found on the Royal Mail website.
If your goods have not arrived within 15 working days, a replacement will be offered or refund as appropriate. We also ask you kindly to complete a ‘missing package form’ which we can then submit to the Royal mail.

If for any reason you are not satisfied, please return the goods in an undamaged state in original packaging and we will make a full refund. Please include name, address, order details, reason why returning product and a print out showing the printing defect.
In the extremely unlikely event that not all items of your order are received by you, you must inform The Ink Lab within 48hrs receipt of the goods. Unfortunately we cannot accept claims after that time.
